Diana Kramer
Life Enrichment Coordinator

The name Diana comes from the Roman Goddess of the moon. This possibly explains why I enjoy late nights, movies about werewolves and, of course, pizza! You know, like the song lyrics say, “when the moon hits your eye…..”. The past two years I have worked at the Village as the Life Enrichment Coordinator for our Independent Living residents. Prior to COVID-19 affecting our area, we enjoyed outings that included the arts, social gatherings, fine dining experiences, new movies, fun shopping and live music venues. We are optimistic that post COVID-19, armed with a few new wellness precautions, we will be able to pick up right where we left off.

I, myself, am looking forward to planning some short getaways with friends and family. I enjoy being outdoors and Colorado is a favorite destination. When the mountains start calling, I start packing!

I am blissfully married to the greatest guy ever and we have two “children”. My son has been out of the house for several years and my daughter is a freshman in college. I also have two poodles which immediately lets you know that I can only ever have a king sized bed, my floors are tiled and I spend a lot of time spelling out words: O-U-T-S-I-D-E, C-A-R, T-R-E-A-T,… you get the idea.

It has been my pleasure these past two and a half years to have been part of such a wonderful community as The Village at The Woodlands Waterway. Our residents are truly exceptional people with big hearts and wonderful stories. I look forward to creating many new memories and hope you consider being part of our adventure!

Benedette Evans
Director of Health Services


Hello! My name is Benedette Evans and I am the Director of Health Services at The Village at The Woodlands Waterway. I have been a Registered Nurse for over 10 years. I am originally from Kenya and my Kenyan name is Rembo, which means beautiful. I enjoy helping people and always strive to make everyone’s life beautiful. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, spending time with my family and serving the community. I am a big advocate for Preventative Health Care so I spend a lot of my time creating awareness about disease prevention.

My name is Mery Mckeown. I am a sales counselor at The Village at The Woodlands Waterway and have been part of this amazing team for two years! I love coming to work and being welcomed in by the warm smiles of our residents. It’s very fulfilling to be able to serve a generation that has done so much for all of us! When I am away from work I am with my family and our three rescue dogs. We have two beautiful daughters, our oldest is six years old and our latest addition is our 3-month old. We spend a lot of time at the park, cooking and baking in the kitchen and also at our church.

 

Opening Up Our Community Update: May 11, 2020

Federal and state governments are releasing plans to reopen the economy to essential business. While this is an encouraging sign to our country’s response to COVID-19, please know this process will be taken thoughtfully at The Village at The Woodlands Waterway. We will implement a three-phased approach when reopening our community. Decisions for each phase will be based on state and regional criteria, advice from public health officials, and the health status of our community.

We are all looking forward to the day when we can resume our lives as a community and gather with our friends, yet the health and safety of our residents and employees must remain our highest priority. From the beginning, we have taken on this challenge as a marathon rather than a sprint. There are no short cuts or easy answers to how we reduce our risk to COVID-19 and it’s as important as ever that we continue to remain focused on protecting ourselves and supporting each other.

In the upcoming weeks, and until further notice, The Village at The Woodlands Waterway will continue to follow the heightened precautionary measures currently in place. These practices include following social distancing protocol and restricting non-essential visitors. We understand the risks posed to our community from COVID-19 and remain committed to our processes. We’ll only begin to shift our protocols after we know our community is no longer at risk, and with careful consideration of the guidance offered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and local and state health departments. As the situation develops, and we make changes to our protocols, residents, employees and families will be notified first —but to reiterate, we will not be modifying our precautionary measures at this time.

Thank you for your patience, your support, and for embodying that hopeful spirit that The Village at The Woodlands Waterway is known for as we continue to navigate this process together. Coronavirus Update

After careful consideration for the health and safety of residents, employees, and family members, our community amended its visitor policy on Monday, March 16, and is restricting visitors from entering our community.

Please bookmark the LCS website for future updates and information regarding our community COVID-19 response and prevention measures already implemented, such as:

  • Educating all staff and residents in social distancing guidelines
  • Increasing the frequency and rigor of cleaning and disinfecting common community areas
  • Implementing temporary visitor restrictions, including deliveries
  • Canceling on-site large group social events and recreational activities
  • Reviewing and executing our emergency preparedness and response program
  • Asking residents and employees to reschedule travel plans and remain in our community
  • Deploying an updated visitor advisory for communities and to campus
  • Coordinating best practices across the broad, LCS partner network
  • Making the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID-19 prevention resources and recommendations available to all employees
